Steins GateThe masterful visual novel Steins;Gate will come to PS3 and Vita in the U.S. August 25, 2015. The news comes from online retailer RiceDigital, which, as it did for the European release (which launched June 5, 2015), will once again be offering an exclusive deluxe edition of the game. The “El Psy Kongroo” Edition includes a special game box and 126-page art book featuring CG and key works. RiceDigital has their hands on two exclusive inclusions: a two-piece badge set done up in Future Gadget Lab style, a metal Upa replica (the same collectible Steins;Gate character Mayuri chases after) and of course a case for the two. These additions do not affect the $79.99 price tag of the edition.

The U.S. release of Steins;Gate will be published by PQube, who also handled the European version. The game was developed by 5pb and Nitroplus, who have collaborated on numerous installments in the Chaos; series as well as Robotics;Notes. For the uninitiated: Steins;Gate is a diehard time-travel story based on the discovery made by a group of young scientists. The group stumbles upon a way to send electronic messages into the past and, in true Back to the Future fashion, manages to muck up the future. It’s a profoundly character-driven narrative replete with player choice, and remains one of the most emotionally charged visual novels ever made.
