clubnintendo_featureClub Nintendo will shutter its doors Tuesday, June 30, 2015, bringing an end to its six-year run. As such, program members should spend any and all remaining coins immediately, lest they go to waste with tomorrow’s reset. Club Nintendo accounts will close at 11:59 p.m. Pacific (2:59 a.m. Eastern), deleting all coins in the process. Indeed, coins will not be transferred to Nintendo’s new loyalty program, nor will they be accessible in the future.

Fortunately, Nintendo beefed up its Club Nintendo rewards catalog in preparation for its closure, making it easy to pick out a parting gift. You’ll still need to redeem any download codes before July 1, however, as all codes will also expire with the closure. Furthermore, account membership will automatically be cancelled.

Nintendo has yet to fully outline the loyalty program which will replace Club Nintendo. However, it is clear that it will play into the company’s plans to develop mobile titles featuring Nintendo characters. During an earlier investors’ meeting, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata confirmed the program will extend to 3DS, Wii U, Nintendo NX, smartphones and PCs.

As IGN reports, Iwata also noted that the program will not merely emulate Club Nintendo, but focus on “the entertainment elements.” Rather than tabulate purchase history alone, the next program will factor in “the history of [each player’s] gameplay and how each consumer has interacted with others.”
