Back in February 2015, Bandai Namco did something rather unexpected. It trademarked Cinderella Girls in Europe. This is notable as the company has a mobile game called The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls involving the collecting and battling of various idols. It seemed as though the trademark could be tied to a localization of that title, but a new candidate has appeared! Introducing Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage!

Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage is more similar in gameplay to the Idolmaster: Shiny Festa games already available on iTunes. It’s a traditional music game where you tap the heads of various characters as note indicators drop toward them. Basically, it looks a lot like Love Live! School Idol Festival for iOS devices, only with the Idolmaster girls and five tracks to watch instead of nine.

Here’s a brief trailer, which only just barely gives a hint at Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage‘s gameplay.

That was a great 15 seconds, right? In a twist, the five girls appearing in your row also appear in costume and dance on stage, which is a nice touch.

There’s no word on a localization yet. However, people can pre-register for Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage if they have an iOS or Android device that can play it. (Oh, if only I were so lucky.) Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this one gets translated!

The only thing you can do for now is have a Japanese account on your phone so you can at least download and play the Japanese version of the girl.

how do u get a japanese account on an american device? :/

        • Flavio Hernandez

I did it on iTunes. It had to be a new account since you can’t change countries unless you have a payment method from that place as proof you’re from there so I used a new email and did the account as usual but with Japan as my region and stuff so. Now I have multiple iTunes accounts.

Has there been any announcements that this will come to the US? I’m currently playing the Japanese version of the game and I would like to know if I’ll be able to keep my account if I change versions. Like I don’t want most of my progress being all for nothing.
