anime midwest 2015Another big con is coming to the Chicago area, and people who love video games should get excited. Anime Midwest is about to begin in a few days, and you’ll want to attend. Not just because it’s an opportunity to shop, socialize and attend panels like “Meet Billy West,” “Kingdom Hearts: The Thirteenth Year” and”Feminism and Fandoms,” but also to celebrate video games.

People who love video games will be in heaven at Anime Midwest 2015. The massive video game room returns to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, filled with classic consoles to enjoy for free, as well as arcade cabinets. There’ll even be tournaments again this year. This is in addition to Tokyo Attack appearing at the con with titles like Taiko no Tatsujin, beatmania IIDX, jubeat and more. A Pachinko Fever gallery with an impromptu parlor set up.

As far as special guests go, there are a few notable names to know. Greg Ayres, Billy West, Chris Rager, Sonny Strait, Eric Stuart, John Swasey, Chuck Huber, Chris Cason, D.C. Douglas, Joel McDonald, Spike Spencer and Caitlynn Lindsay Shae French will be among the famous faces at Anime Midwest 2015. It’s an event mainly focused on anime, but you’ll see a few familiar video game voice actors among the bunch. Also, you won’t want to miss Mega Ran & K-Murdock and Brentalfloss’ performances.

Anime Midwest 2015 is July 3-5, 2015, though people can stop by on Thursday evening if they pre-registered to pick up badges. A full weekend pass is $50 at the moment, though prices will jump to $40 a day if you wait too long. That admission fee gets you access all weekend to every event, as well as free ramen, rice and Mt Dew.
